What are the responsibilities and job description for the Moll folder-gluer operator position at CoinsTV?
Help Create Unique Collectible Products
We are a fast-growing manufacturing and e-commerce company that designs and produces collectible coins, specialty packaging, and limited-edition merchandise. Our production operations combine custom printing, commercial packaging, digital production, and specialty finishing to create unique collectible products.
Our work is different from a typical commercial print shop. We produce highly specialized products in-house and are continually developing new packaging, products, and production processes.
We are looking for a hands-on Print Packaging Technician with direct experience operating commercial MOLL folder gluer packaging machinery.
This is a packaging machinery position — not a general print technician position.
The primary focus of this position is producing our packaging efficiently and accurately while operating, maintaining, setting up, and troubleshooting the machinery used throughout the packaging process.
Direct packaging equipment experience is required.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with commercial folding, carton, box-making, gluing, or similar packaging machinery. Experience operating a Moll folder-gluer is strongly preferred.
This position is not intended for a general production worker, general machine operator, or print technician whose experience is limited to digital presses or basic print finishing. We are specifically looking for someone who understands commercial packaging machinery and can independently set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment.
What You'll DoPrimary Duties — Packaging Production
· Operate, set up, adjust, and monitor commercial packaging production machinery
· Run production jobs for folding cartons, boxes, packaging components, labels, and other printed packaging materials
· Set up and operate folder-gluer, carton, box-forming, folding, gluing, and related packaging equipment
· Perform equipment changeovers and make mechanical adjustments for different jobs, substrates, and specifications
· Troubleshoot equipment, feeding, folding, gluing, alignment, and registration problems
· Monitor finished products for quality, consistency, dimensions, folding, and glue placement
· Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, maintenance, and basic mechanical repairs on packaging equipment
· Identify mechanical or production problems and determine appropriate equipment adjustments
· Help optimize production speed, setup time, material usage, and finished-product quality
· Help test new products, materials, packaging designs, and production techniques
· Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
What We're Looking ForPackaging Machinery Experience — Required
· 3 years of hands-on experience in commercial packaging, folding/gluing, carton production, or a closely related manufacturing environment
· Direct experience operating packaging machinery
· Experience with commercial folder-gluer equipment is strongly preferred
· Moll folder-gluer experience is highly preferred
· Experience with carton folding, box forming, gluing, feeding, die-cutting, or related packaging equipment
· Ability to independently set up, adjust, operate, and troubleshoot packaging machinery
· Mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment problems
· Experience performing machine changeovers and adjusting equipment for different jobs and materials
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent product quality
· Ability to follow production procedures, specifications, and deadlines
· Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
· Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
Additional Experience That Is Helpful
· Experience in a commercial print shop, folding carton operation, packaging company, or manufacturing facility
· Experience performing equipment adjustments or troubleshooting production equipment
· Experience with UV printing, digital presses, or specialty printing equipment
· Experience with die-cutting and other print-finishing equipment
· Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
· Experience with RIP software such as RasterLink or similar
· Experience working with paperboard, cover stock, adhesives, laminates, or other packaging materials
Printing experience is helpful, but it is not a substitute for packaging machinery experience.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with machinery and understands that successful packaging production requires more than simply pushing a start button.
You should be comfortable setting up a machine, making mechanical adjustments, identifying problems, troubleshooting the cause, and getting the equipment back into production.
Candidates whose experience consists primarily of digital press operation, wide-format printing, basic print finishing, warehouse work, or general machine operation without commercial packaging equipment experience may not be a fit for this position.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to stand for extended periods
· Ability to perform repetitive production tasks
· Ability to safely work around mechanical production equipment
