Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Facilities Engineering with electrical infrastructure projects, including power distribution, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
- Support project planning and coordination, including tracking schedules, budgets, and project documentation.
- Assist in reviewing electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications for facility systems.
- Participate in site walkdowns and inspections to document electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, substations, backup power, etc.) and identify improvement opportunities.
- Help collect and analyze data related to energy usage, electrical loads, and facility system performance.
- Work with engineers and contractors to support project execution, commissioning, and system testing.
- Assist with updating engineering documentation, maintenance records, and project reports
- Prepare a final internship presentation or report summarizing project contributions and key learnings.
- Education Level Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s
- If bachelor’s candidate should be a rising Junior (completed 2 years by start)
- Majors: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related engineering discipline
- Relevant coursework power systems, electrical design, energy systems, or industrial electrical systems is strongly desired. is a plus.
- Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
- Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and time management.
- Familiarity with electrical power systems and facility infrastructure.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or electrical drawing review is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and project tracking tools preferred.
- Internship Duration: 10 – 14 weeks.

- This role will be based on-site in Sherman, TX
- Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
- Work will involve time spent in facilities areas, mechanical rooms, or construction zones supporting engineering projects.
- Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
- Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
- Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
