Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities equipment and systems to identify issues and potential problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facility equipment according to established schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as needed.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls to address issues and minimize downtime.
  • Install new equipment or components as required, following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and contractors to complete projects and tasks efficiently.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations while working with equipment and handling hazardous materials.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing maintenance plans and strategies to optimize facility performance and longevity.
  • Participate in a rotating emergency call-in shift as part of facilities trade employee responsibilities.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years of relevant experience

Skills

  • Possess the ability to read blueprints and interpret electrical schematics, controls schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Possess knowledge of pneumatic controls, thermostats, receiver-controllers, and related control devices to be able to repair and/or replace.
  • Ability to isolate and repair failed components and calibrate systems.
  • Possess an understanding of how a ventilation system works and be able to troubleshoot, balance, and repair air distribution systems.
  • Has strong interpersonal/teaming skills to communicate and effectively interact with all levels of the organization and to effectively work with outside contractors, vendors and suppliers.

Working Conditions

  • Will be exposed to areas where hand tools and power tools are being operated.
  • Will be exposed to areas where hazardous chemicals or gases are stored.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirement

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, reach, twist, turn and climb normally associated with construction work.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift
  • Ability to perform activities that include climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling
