Product Management At Cohere

We view the role that PMs play at Cohere to be “full-stack” in the sense that you will work with cross-functional stakeholders at every step of the way when conducting product discovery, training and evaluating models, designing the product, delivering the experience, and ensuring successful GTM and customer happiness.

About The Code Role

AI is rapidly changing how software is developed, but many enterprises have been unable to adopt these powerful new tools due to strict security, privacy, and compliance requirements. Cohere is uniquely positioned to bridge this gap by building enterprise-ready AI for developers.

This is a foundational, 0-to-1 product management role focused on defining and building Cohere's code generation product suite from the ground up. The focus of this PM will be to discover and deliver the most valuable coding products for our enterprise customers, leveraging Cohere’s state-of-the-art models and our trusted position in the market. The expectation is that you have a deep passion for developer tools, a strong understanding of the AI landscape, and experience navigating the needs of enterprise customers.

This Role Will Be Responsible For Defining And Building

  • The overall product strategy and roadmap for Code at Cohere.
  • The end-to-end user experience for developers, including potential form factors like chat interfaces, IDE plugins, and CLIs.
  • The go-to-market motion required for successful enterprise adoption, in partnership with sales and marketing.
  • The feedback loop that guides our research team in building the next generation of code models.

In This Role, You Will

  • Define strategic priorities and the product roadmap for Code at Cohere, focusing on enterprise needs and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Use deep customer engagement and data to understand developer workflows, identify high-value use cases, and guide product development.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including teams in research, engineering, design, product, finance, go-to-market, and marketing.
  • Drive product strategy through a deep understanding of the dynamic and competitive AI landscape for developer tools.
  • Partner closely with our world-class research team to ensure our code models remain state-of-the-art and are tailored to solve enterprise challenges.

You're Likely a Good Fit If You Have

  • Product Management Experience: A demonstrated track record in product management (4 years) of shipping developer-focused or AI-powered products from concept to launch
  • Developer-First Mindset: A genuine passion for and deep understanding of developer workflows, developer experience (DX), and the rapidly evolving AI coding assistant landscape
  • Technical Collaboration: The technical depth to collaborate effectively with world-class research and engineering teams, whether from a formal CS background or equivalent hands-on experience in software development
  • AI/ML Knowledge: Hands-on experience with LLMs or code generation technologies, and a clear vision for the future of AI in software development
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience leading and unifying cross-functional teams (research, engineering, design, sales, marketing) around a compelling product vision and roadmap
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional communication and execution skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes and inspire teams to deliver

If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply! If you want to work really hard on a glorious mission with teammates that want the same thing, Cohere is the place for you.

We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form, and we will work together to meet your needs.
