Elementary Music & Band Teacher K-5 (FTE .95)

● Plan units and lessons that foster a coherent and rigorous progression of learning, meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students and employ a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional techniques. ● Demonstrate basic accompaniment on piano/keyboard. ● Demonstrate proficiency and an ability to teach beginners on all wind and percussion instruments. ● Effectively program repertoire that is grade level and performance appropriate. ● Plan, rehearse, and direct pupils in musical programs for school and community. ● Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. ● Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and use these assessments to inform instruction. ● Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. ● Plan and collaborate with special education teachers and classroom aides in order to support academic progress of students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Accommodation Plans, or any other education plans. ● Identify pupil academic and social emotional needs and collaborate with other professional staff members and families to address those needs. ● Control the storage and use of school-owned property. ● Communicate effectively with all stakeholders (families, team members and student assistance team) on pupils’ progress. ● Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and self-selected professional growth activities related to music. ● Attend staff and team meetings. ● Other duties as assigned.
