The hourly rate for this position is between $99,000 – $116,000 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

In This Role, You Will
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server environments, including Network Deployment (ND) and Java EE application deployments.
- Administer and support IBM MQ, integrating with enterprise applications via IIB (e.g., Repricer, EPDB, AEPays).
- Manage HTTPS/SSH certificates and implement security policies, including SSL, user roles, and LDAP integrations.
- Configure and maintain REST API services within IBM i environments for secure and scalable communication.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, including WebSphere, JVMs, and related components, using tools like AppDynamics or Tivoli Performance Viewer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across WebSphere and deployed applications, including root cause analysis and disaster recovery planning.
- Apply patches, fix packs, and perform upgrades of WebSphere and related software components.
- Automate administrative tasks using Jython, Shell, or similar scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams on application deployments, environment configurations, and issue resolution.
- Administer IBM HTTP Server (IHS) and manage WebSphere clusters and load balancing for high availability and scalability.

What You Need To Have To Be Considered
- Proven track record of 10 years as a WebSphere Application Server Administrator and IBM MQ Admin.
- Strong knowledge of IBM i / AS400 systems.
- Hands-on experience with REST API configuration and maintenance in IBM i environments.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- MQ administration experience specifically within IBM i / AS400 environments.
- Broader exposure to WebSphere Application Server beyond core administration.
