Senior Mobile Engineer
Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mobile Developer to join our dynamic team supporting key stakeholders in the Banking and Financial Services sector. In this hybrid role, you’ll serve as a critical liaison between client and offshore teams, driving the design and development of innovative mobile applications that enhance user experience and meet complex business needs.
Hybrid – Richmond, VA – Onsite . Some positions may require in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project needs.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
What You’ll Do
Design and develop robust mobile applications using Objective-C and SwiftUI
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features aligned with the Cards & Payments domain
Build scalable and maintainable apps using Ionic Capacitor and Ionic Framework
Implement and manage Docker containers to streamline development and deployment
Develop and maintain REST APIs for seamless backend integration
Use the Combine Framework to handle asynchronous data streams efficiently
Apply design patterns to solve architectural challenges and improve code quality
Manage code changes and collaboration using Git
Integrate Swift Package Manager for dependency management and build optimization
Optimize networking libraries to enhance performance and reduce latency
Conduct unit testing with XCTest to ensure reliability and maintainability
Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning
Stay current with industry trends to keep our mobile solutions competitive and forward-thinking
What You Need to Succeed
Proven expertise in Objective-C, SwiftUI, and Ionic Capacitor
Experience in the Cards & Payments domain and its unique requirements
Proficiency with Docker, REST APIs, and Git
Strong understanding of design patterns and the Combine Framework
Familiarity with Swift Package Manager and networking libraries
Experience with XCTest for unit testing and quality assurance
Passion for mentoring and collaborative development
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $97k – $114k depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
