Senior AWS Security Architect

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Security Architect to lead cloud security strategy, architecture, and governance across enterprise AWS environments. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to client security leadership, helping design secure cloud solutions, strengthen security posture, and drive key architectural decisions. The ideal candidate combines deep AWS security and networking expertise with strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

In This Role, You Will

• Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, providing guidance on cloud security strategy, governance, and risk management.
• Design secure AWS architectures, including networking, segmentation, identity management, and cloud-native security controls.
• Lead security assessments and recommend improvements to enterprise cloud infrastructure, policies, and security frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to integrate security best practices throughout the cloud lifecycle.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, communicate security risks to stakeholders, and support enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.

What You Need To Have To Be Considered

• 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Security Architecture, Cloud Security, or related disciplines.
• Deep expertise in AWS security services, IAM, governance, threat protection, and enterprise cloud security architecture.
• Strong AWS networking experience, including VPCs, network segmentation, transit gateways, routing, and security groups.
• Experience implementing enterprise security solutions, including Palo Alto or similar firewall technologies within AWS environments.
• Proven ability to define security standards, influence senior stakeholders, and lead large-scale cloud security initiatives.
  
  

These Will Help You Stand Out

• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect Professional.
• Experience with Palo Alto Prisma Cloud, CSPM solutions, or other cloud security posture management platforms.
• Cross-cloud security expertise across AWS and Azure environments.
• Experience supporting security architecture within highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of industry frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, and enterprise risk management practices.

Salary And Compensation

The annual salary for this position will be between $119,000 to 140,000 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
