Role:-
Define end to end Ignition architecture across on prem, hybrid, and cloud deployments, including gateways, redundancy, edge, and high availability patterns.
Establish standard architecture blueprints for Pharma manufacturing use cases (EBR, OEE, equipment monitoring, utilities, serialization, data historians).
Design scalable tag models, UDTs, data structures, and naming conventions aligned to ISA 95 / ISA 88 principles.
Ensure solutions meet GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity (ALCOA ) requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
Strong hands on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition platform architecture.
Deep understanding of manufacturing OT systems and industrial protocols.
Proficiency in Python scripting, SQL, tag modeling, alarms, and visualization design.
Experience with high availability, redundancy, and performance optimization.
Manufacturing & Domain Experience
Experience in Pharma / Life Sciences manufacturing environments (Batch or Continuous).
Solid understanding of MES/MOM concepts, equipment integration, and shop floor workflows.
Familiarity with ISA 95 / ISA 88, electronic batch records, and manufacturing KPIs.
Compliance & Quality
Practical experience working in validated environments.
Knowledge of CSV, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and audit readiness.
Soft Skills
Strong architecture communication skills for both technical and business stakeholders.
Ability to lead globally distributed teams and mentor Ignition developers.
Comfortable working with customers, quality teams, and IT/OT stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Ignition Gold / Core certification (preferred).
Experience with cloud hosted Ignition (AWS, Azure) in regulated environments.
Exposure to OEE, digital twins, or manufacturing analytics initiatives.
Prior experience supporting multi site global rollouts.
Compensation: - $110,000 to $130,000 /- and this position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted by 3/24/2026
