Responsibilities
Mainframe z/OS Operations & Support
- Provide L2/L3 support for IBM z/OS systems.
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance.
- Handle system alerts, production incidents, abends, and outages.
- Troubleshoot z/OS system issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Support and administer z/OS components including:
- JES2 / JES3
- TSO / ISPF
- Monitor batch job processing and resolve failures.
- Support workload scheduling tools (e.g., CA‑7, Control‑M, OPC/TWS).
- Analyze JCL errors and correct execution issues.
- Coordinate with application teams for job and system dependencies.
- Ensure systems comply with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in major incident bridges and post‑incident reviews.
- Ensure SLA compliance and proper documentation.
- Provide call and after‑hours production support as required.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with IBM z/OS
- Hands‑on knowledge of:
- TSO/ISPF, SDSF
- JCL and batch processing
- JES2/JES3
- SMF/RMF analysis
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- 4 –6 years, depending on role level (L2/L3)
