About The Role
As a Product Owner – Senior Associate, you will make an impact by providing product vision, Agile leadership, and customer advocacy to software development teams. In This Role, You Will
- Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project through understanding and representing the customer to the team through backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories and requirements.
- Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum best practices and values and enforcing them while maintaining/growing team dynamic.
- Partner with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog that reflects value and prioritizes work for a software development team while understanding changing requirements on a daily basis.
- Represent Cognizant in client conferences, Webinars, and customer workgroup meetings to communicate the business value of Product features to existing customers and prospects
- Provide an active role in removing/mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
- Manage the relationship with the client by organizing product system demo for critical features before those are getting adapted to ensure those meet business expectations
- Drive the usability sessions with customers to gauge the usability of new features and address customer feedback and concerns by coordinating with development teams
- Be responsible to identify potential risks in meeting product quality and release timelines, assess their impact and identify ways to mitigate those.
- Be responsible for ensuring quality designs for all features, either by performing feature design, or by coordinating the activities of designers within the scrum team, product family, and/or the product portfolio.
- Mentor team members on the Agile Framework and coordination of their deliverables

What You Need To Have To Be Considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification.
- 5 years of professional software product development experience.
- Experience working with one or more Payer or Health plan and sound understanding of health plan’s disciplines ( Claims, Membership, EDI etc.) - THIS IS A MUST!
- 2 years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Hands‑on experience documenting and elaborating software requirements, including user stories and detailed specifications.
- Experience across multiple full project lifecycles, from concept through delivery.
- Proven ability to manage large‑scale SaaS or cloud‑based Agile projects.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with healthcare technology or regulated industries.
- Strong organizational skills with an outcome‑oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and geographically dispersed teams.
