Role Summary
The Azure Databricks Senior Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data engineering solutions on Azure using Databricks, Spark, and related cloud services. This role focuses on building scalable pipelines, enabling analytics and AI workloads, and ensuring high‑quality, reliable data delivery across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Applications will be accepted until February 27th 2026. The annual salary for this position is between $100- $120K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Azure Databricks Senior Developer
Need associate to be based out of Dallas TX / Louisville KY
Role Summary
The Azure Databricks Senior Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data engineering solutions on Azure using Databricks, Spark, and related cloud services. This role focuses on building scalable pipelines, enabling analytics and AI workloads, and ensuring high‑quality, reliable data delivery across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for batch and streaming data.
- Integrate Databricks with Azure services such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Key Vault, and Event Hub/Kafka.
- Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and performance tuning.
- Develop reusable components, notebooks, jobs, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with architects, data modelers, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, optimize compute costs, and ensure platform reliability.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to coding standards and best practices.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.
- Solid understanding of distributed computing, data partitioning, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data transformation logic.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workloads.
- Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- 6–10 years in data engineering; 3 years with Databricks.
- Experience with streaming frameworks (Structured Streaming, Kafka/Event Hub).
- Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and medallion design patterns.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
- Databricks or Azure certifications are a plus.
