About the role
As an Automation Manager, you will make an impact by designing and configuring systems while continuously updating your knowledge of evolving automation technologies.
You will be a valued member of the Life Sciences team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and transformation processes.
In this role, you will:
- Design, program, and configure Rockwell PlantPAx systems and related software.
- Provide technical support on PlantPAx and FactoryTalk Batch to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop documentation including design specifications, user manuals, and operational procedures.
- Implement and maintain automation strategies for industrial process control systems, including integration with MES.
- Ensure compliance and continuous improvement by applying Rockwell best practices and staying updated on automation technologies

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Norton, MA. What you need to have to be considered:
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with Rockwell Technologies, specifically Rockwell PlantPAx.
- Proven expertise in installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and qualifying industrial control systems.
- Strong background in Life Sciences with mandatory GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) experience.
- Demonstrated ability to configure and maintain PlantPAx systems across multiple Life Science manufacturing sites.
- Capable of leading and providing consulting services on best practices for configuring and utilizing Rockwell technologies.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $113,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
