Job Overview

The Director/VP of Engineering accountability will be to ensure the business is optimized, well-coordinated and productive by leveraging the various business procedures associated with project execution, delivery, and support. The role will include ownership and governance of the company’s Project Execution methodology, including periodic updates to ensure continuous improvement. The Director/VP of Engineering will be responsible for ensuring proper forecasting and project resource loading to ensure project delivery budgets and timelines are met, as well as effective use of company personnel. This will require thorough knowledge of the company’s day-to-day operations. Successful contributions of this role will ultimately be measured via key company performance metrics such as overall profit margins, annual revenue, resource utilization, employee job satisfaction, and staff retention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree.


  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in solution development, delivery, and support of Automation systems for manufacturing.


  • Experience in Systems Integration for manufacturing industry, in regulated (Pharma/OTC) and non-regulated industries (Food/Specialty Chemical).


  • Experience in Project Management for mid-to-large-scale automation projects ($1-$2 million in project value).


  • Experience and capabilities to oversee a portfolio of projects including managing resource loading, forecasting, and tracking project execution metrics.


  • Excellent communication skills


  • Experience and strong capabilities in managing teams


  • Ability and experience in leading and developing people (direct reports) is preferred.



Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide administration and direction to the day-to-day operations of the business including overall delivery status and resource tracking of the entire company portfolio of projects.
  • Coordinate resources and provide oversight across the various Program Managers’ portfolios to ensure resource constraints are identified and remediated.
  • Determine and implement polies and metrics to track adherence, ensuring all Project Managers are following the company’s Project Execution methodology.
  • Continuously assess and analyze business processes and policies. Develop and put into place new and/or modified business procedures to optimize and improve day-to-day operations as well as those contributing to staff overall job experience.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated. Define and oversee processes for the collection and analysis of the data required to drive these metrics.
  • Interact with company staff frequently and determine best methods for consistently collecting constructive feedback and gain visibility to overall employee experience. Work with company leadership team to consider and implement policy changes to improve employee experience.
  • Provide input and oversight to the various company foundational policies and processes associated with employee training, quality compliance and safety compliance.
  • Act as administrator and system owner of the company’s Program and Resource Management platform. Govern procedures and policies associated with the platform. Responsible for seeking and implementing updates to optimize the business processes associated with the platform.

Salary : $160,000 - $210,000
