What are the responsibilities and job description for the NDT Technician position at COGENT Infotech?
- Perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on materials, components, and aerospace structures.
- Utilize PAUT, pulse-echo, shear wave, and through-transmission UT techniques.
- Set up, calibrate, and standardize NDI/UT equipment.
- Interpret indications and determine acceptance/rejection according to approved procedures and specifications.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Perform system performance checks and support NDI process audits.
- Identify and document nonconformances as required.
- Provide technical guidance and support to trainees and junior technicians.
- Level III: Interpret NDT codes and standards, develop/review procedures and work instructions, and provide technical oversight and personnel certification support.
Required Qualifications
- UT Level II or Level III Certification
- NAS 410 Certification
- 40 hours formal UT Level I training
- 40 hours formal UT Level II training
- 800 documented UT OJT hours
- 3 years of related NDT/NDI experience
- AA degree in a related technical discipline preferred.
- Hands-on experience with PAUT, pulse-echo, shear wave, and/or through-transmission methods.
- Aerospace NDT/NDI experience strongly preferred.
