**Position Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled and well-rounded AWS Cloud Architect/Engineer to support enterprise cloud initiatives, maintain and optimize AWS environments, assist with complex troubleshooting, and mentor internal technical teams.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, cloud governance, networking, and security best practices. This role will play a key part in supporting enterprise cloud modernization efforts and contributing to the growth of a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE).

**Key Responsibilities**

AWS Environment Management
Manage and maintain enterprise AWS environments and multi-account cloud infrastructure.
Ensure cloud environments adhere to AWS best practices for scalability, security, governance, and operational excellence.
Monitor and optimize AWS resources, policies, and organizational structures.
Cloud Architecture & Solution Design
Design, review, and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS solutions.
Lead architectural discussions and recommend cloud-native modernization strategies.
Support hybrid-cloud and multi-account environments.
Troubleshooting & Operational Support
Serve as the senior escalation point for complex AWS-related infrastructure and networking issues.
Troubleshoot connectivity, compute, storage, and identity-related issues across cloud and on-premises environments.
Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to identify root causes and implement remediation strategies.
Governance, Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain AWS security best practices including IAM, SCPs, encryption, logging, and network segmentation.
Support compliance initiatives and governance frameworks.
Assist with the development of cloud policies, standards, and operational procedures.
DevOps & Automation
Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation workflows.
Support containerized and serverless application architectures.
Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer
Mentor technical teams on AWS technologies, architecture, and operational best practices.
Develop technical documentation, standards, operational runbooks, and playbooks.
Foster a collaborative and learning-focused cloud culture.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with cloud vendors and third-party providers to integrate enterprise cloud solutions.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

**Required Qualifications & Skills**

Strong expertise in AWS services including:
EC2
S3
RDS
VPC
IAM
Lambda
CloudFormation
Experience leading enterprise cloud migrations or implementations in complex multi-account AWS environments.
Deep understanding of AWS Control Tower and AWS Landing Zone Accelerator.
Strong networking and connectivity troubleshooting skills, including hybrid-cloud and on-premises integration.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC):
CloudFormation
Terraform
AWS CDK
Experience implementing AWS security best practices including:
IAM Policies
SCPs
Encryption
Network segmentation
Familiarity with:
Docker
ECS
EKS
Serverless architectures
DevOps methodologies
Strong troubleshooting capabilities across networking, compute, and storage layers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience mentoring technical teams and supporting knowledge transfer initiatives.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to lead solution discussions and architectural decision-making in complex enterprise environments.

**Preferred Qualifications**
AWS Professional Certifications such as:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
Experience working in government or highly regulated environments.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as:
HIPAA
CJIS
IRS 1075
Knowledge of:
ITIL
Agile/Scrum
PMP methodologies
Enterprise governance frameworks
Experience with hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud environments.
Scripting/programming knowledge in:
Python
Bash
