Role Overview
The MuleSoft Lead will design and implementation of API-led integration solutions across three workstreams—External Partner Integrations, Identity & Authentication, and Event-Driven Architecture. The role combines architectural leadership with hands-on coding to ensure scalability, security, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Design

- Establish API-led connectivity patterns for external partner integrations, identity services, and event-driven architecture.
- Ensure compliance with security standards (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, TLS) and enforce identity policies for Okta/Azure AD.
- Design event-driven frameworks leveraging MuleSoft MQ, DLQs, backoff/retry, and performance baselines.
Hands-On Development
- Actively code critical components, proofs-of-concept, and complex integrations (Mule 4, DataWeave).
- Develop reusable templates, connectors, and API implementations for CloudHub 1.0/2.0.
- Configure CI/CD (GitHub Actions), secrets management, and environment promotion strategies.
- Troubleshoot and optimize performance (caching, pagination, connection strategies) in lower and production environments.
Governance & Best Practices
- Create API style guides, coding standards, and reference implementations.
- Enforce MUnit coverage thresholds; establish automated quality gates and PR reviews.
- Implement observability using Anypoint Monitoring and centralized logging; define SLOs/SLIs for services.
Leadership & Delivery
- Serve as technical authority for onsite/offshore PODs; mentor Tech Leads and Senior Developers.
- Lead sprint ceremonies with product and platform stakeholders; maintain clear Definition of Ready/Done.
- Conduct architecture reviews and oversee backlog grooming aligned to roadmap and KPIs (velocity, MTTR, defect leakage).
Transition to Managed Services
- Create operational runbooks, on-call rotations, and incident/problem/change management workflows.
- Define a 8–12-week glide path with handover checklists, KT plan, and steady-state support model.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8 years in integration architecture; 4 years in MuleSoft Lead roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Anypoint Platform: API Manager, Runtime Manager, Design Center, Exchange.
- CloudHub deployments, VPCs, shared spaces, and multi-environment promotion strategies.
- RESTful API design, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT; external IdP integrations (Okta, Azure AD).
- Event-driven design with MuleSoft MQ; microservices and pub–sub patterns.
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions; infrastructure-as-code exposure is a plus.
- Testing & QA: MUnit, contract tests; Postman collections and collaboration workflows.

- Ability to influence architectural decisions and drive consensus.
- Mentorship mindset with high ownership and bias to action.
