LITIGATION PARALEGAL
Well established and growing St. Louis-based firm is presenting a unique opportunity for the right candidate. This paralegal position requires a proactive personality with exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Must be able to jump into an existing caseload and move cases forward. 3 years of experience in personal injury practice preferred, but not required. Successful candidates will be responsible for handling personal injury claims from inception through resolution. The position entails extensive contact with clients, attorneys, insurance adjusters, and medical providers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Opening, organizing, and maintaining case files using the firm’s electronic case management system.
- Working with firm attorneys to manage cases and case deadlines to move the clients’ claims forward quickly and efficiently to a final resolution.
- Assisting with the investigation of each case, including gathering, analyzing, and summarizing medical records, medical bills, and other case documents.
- Communicating regularly with clients to gather information and keep them fully informed of their claim status.
- Communicating with outside attorneys, witnesses, and others to obtain case information and schedule case events.
- Preparing documents, discovery, and correspondence.
Position Requirements
- Must have a strong work ethic and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent people skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to prioritize, and execute multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Must have computer skills, including the ability to operate effectively with the Microsoft Office suite and an electronic case management system.
- Some sort of medical background would be a plus but not essential
