The Cook prepares high quality meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations and company standards following instructions on the timely preparation of food for meal service hours and organizing workstations. S/he will use various cooking techniques and methods to prepare goods, assist other cooks and ensure refrigerators, prep areas, cooking surfaces and equipment, and storerooms are kept clean and tidy.

Job Duties
- Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items; Ensure portions and presentation are highest quality
- Store excess food and ingredients at correct temperature and manner for health and to avoid spoilage
- Monitor supplies and assure re-order as needed
- Clean and sterilize food preparations areas; Ensure cooking utensils are clean before each use
- Ensure that food health and safety regulations are followed
- Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
The Cook assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
- Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
- Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
- Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
- Knowledgeable in cooking methods and techniques; ability to follow recipes
- H.S. Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent work experience in field, required
- Safe food handlers training, required
- 1-2 years of institutional cooking experience, preferred
