JOB DUTIES:
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records
- Coordinate the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance
- Prepare testing rooms, ensuring cleanliness, for evaluations
- Administer drug, paternity, hearing, vision, spirometry and PCP testing
- Complete lab controls and proficiency testing, as needed
- Obtain specimens, perform lab duties, draw blood and chart results, as needed
- Report lab, X-Ray and other diagnostics to patients and clients as permissible
- Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
The Occupational Health Nurse LPN assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the public
- Detail-oriented with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
- Computer skills, including MS Office, Outlook, and Meditech, preferred
- Ability to travel locally and regionally up to a sixty-mile radius
- Proficient in taking vitals, as well as administering drug (blood and urine), paternity, hearing, vision, spirometry, and physical capacity program testing
- Ability to move, position self, consistently operate various types of equipment, able to detect/observe/identify details at close or distant range with or without accommodations as well as exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program, required
- Current LPN licensure with the State of Kansas, required
- BLS, required
- 1-2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
- Current, unrestricted driver’s license and vehicle insurance, required
- Basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety, required
- 1-year Occupational Health experience, preferred
- Drug and Alcohol testing certification, preferred
- DNA testing certification, preferred
- Auditory screening certification, preferred
- Vision screening certification, preferred
- Spirometry testing certification, preferred
- Physical Capacity Program testing certification, preferred
