Following are the essential functions of the position, along with the corresponding performance standards.
Observes and reports patient's status changes in cardiac rhythm.
Responds to telemetry alarms consistently, calls other units as needed.
Does not leave monitoring station unattended.
Is able to recognize lethal rhythms .
Is able to pass rhythm strip test every two years.
Updates patient information in telemetry log. Prints strips per policy and informs units.
Monitors telemetry patients for appropriate orders and assures that expired telemetry's are returned or re ordered.
Assists with patients only if someone can cover station.
May feed, Transfers, moves and repositions patients.
Transports patients.
Makes occupied/unoccupied beds, only if station is covered.
