Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling
- Manage food safety protocols, including proper food handling and preparation techniques
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service to ensure a positive café experience for all guests
- Handle cashiering duties including cash handling, basic math calculations, and transaction accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food prep stations and seating areas
- Assist with food service tasks such as serving baked goods, snacks, or light meals while adhering to food safety standards
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without sacrificing quality or accuracy
Experience
- Prior barista experience in a fast-paced café or retail environment is preferred
- Familiarity with coffee preparation methods and food handling procedures
- Experience using POS systems like Toast POS for sales transactions
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food preparation techniques
- Ability to perform retail math, cash handling, and cashiering accurately under pressure
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume hours
