Job Overview
As a Jailer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. Duties
- Monitor inmate behavior and activities to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including cells and common areas, to maintain security.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, utilizing CPR and first aid skills as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities.
- Utilize CCTV systems for surveillance and monitoring of inmate movements.
- Engage in conflict management strategies to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed for security operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inmate interactions and movements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in law enforcement is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
- Strong report writing skills for accurate documentation of incidents.
- Experience with CCTV systems is a plus.
- Proven conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively.
- A background in military or law enforcement is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the facility.
- Must pass background checks and any required training programs.
