School Bookkeeper
Responsible to: Principal
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in maintaining records
- Ability to adjust to varying tasks as assigned
- Familiar with proper accounting procedures
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Competent technological skills including the operation of bookkeeping hardware and software
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains a complete, systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the school or district
- Prepares financial statements and cost reports which reflect the financial condition of the school or district
- Reconciles accounts with bank statements
- Issues purchase orders
- Verifies and pays invoices
- Follows Tennessee Internal School Uniform Accounting Policy Manual
- Maintains contacts with vendors, bank personnel, and school or district stakeholders
- Demonstrates positive customer service skills
General Requirements:
- Follows Federal and State Laws and adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities
- Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest standards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/Mission Statements
- Maintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection of confidential student and staff information
- Other responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assigned
