Overview
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. Previous barista or coffee experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure you excel in your role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to company standards
- Operate Clover POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the café area, including food preparation and food handling procedures
- Manage cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Assist with food service tasks such as serving pastries or light snacks as needed
- Ensure the café environment is welcoming, organized, and well-stocked throughout shifts
- Demonstrate effective time management to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality service
Skills
- Experience with POS systems is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Proven ability to manage time effectively during busy hours
- Basic math skills for sales transactions, retail math, and cash handling
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Previous barista or coffee experience preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks with attention to cleanliness and safety standards
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and team members effectively
