What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Technology Integration Specialist position at Coeur d'Alene Smarthomes?
Responsibilities
- Install and configure speakers, TVs, projectors, video displays, AV racks, and surveillance systems according to engineered plans
- Install and integrate control systems including Extron, Savant, and Control4
- Terminate and test low-voltage wiring (Cat6, fiber, speaker wire, etc.)
- Configure and troubleshoot networking equipment (routers, switches, access points)
- Perform system testing, calibration, and final commissioning
- Diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently
- Perform service calls for maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Maintain organized inventory and proper handling of equipment
- Ensure safe transport and handling of customer equipment
- Represent the company professionally in clients’ homes
Required Experience & Skills
- Direct experience installing professional A/V and smart home systems
- Strong understanding of:
- Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routers, switches, VLANs preferred)
- Distributed audio systems
- Video distribution systems
- Surveillance systems
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with direct customer interaction
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with clean installation practices
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask under time constraints
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs and move between job sites throughout the Coeur d’Alene and Spokane areas
- Flexible schedule when business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years in A/V integration or related field
- Experience with Extron, Savant, Control4 (programming experience a plus)
- Lutron lighting control experience
- Electrical background (a plus)
- Prior customer service or technical support experience
