Coeur d'Alene Kids Dental and Orthodontics is growing! We're looking for an experienced Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. This position combines orthodontic and pediatric dental assisting, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working with children.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist during treatment
- Assist the pediatric dentist chairside
- Perform pediatric dental cleanings (prophys)
- Take dental scans and dental X-rays
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental
- Follow all infection control protocols
- Work closely with the doctors and team to provide excellent patient care
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience
- Minimum 1 year of chairside assisting experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of infection control and dental terminology
Preferred:
- Pediatric dental assisting experience (training available for the right candidate)
- Experience with Open Dental software
- Familiarity with digital orthodontic workflows
