Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding and labeling prescriptions accurately.
- Manage medication inventory, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Perform intake procedures for new prescriptions, verifying patient information and medication orders with precision.
- Apply aseptic techniques during sterile compounding and IV infusion preparation to maintain safety standards.
- Support patient care by providing medication administration assistance under supervision, ensuring adherence to medical protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrate excellent patient service by answering questions, providing medication information, and ensuring a positive pharmacy experience.
Requirements
- Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within LTC pharmacy or hospital settings.
- Critical care experience is highly desirable, with familiarity in acute care environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
- Hands-on experience with IV infusion preparation and aseptic technique.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and intake processes.
- Excellent communication skills focused on patient service and team collaboration.
