Job Summary
We are seeking a Specimen Technician (SPT I) to join our team in the Specimen Processing Department. This role supports laboratory operations by performing specimen handling, data entry, and general lab support tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general specimen processing functions, including A-station, pre-sort, pickup/delivery, centrifugation, imaging, and aliquoting.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with laboratory standards and regulations.
- Accurately enter data at a minimum speed of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following biohazard safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and support staff at all levels.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work setting.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: No prior experience required; laboratory or specimen processing experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry proficiency.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures preferred.
- Other Requirements: Must be comfortable working in a biohazard environment and able to sit or stand for long periods.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $17.20 per hour
