**Temporary Seasonal Position is up to 20 hours per week, hours will be variable as needed.

Job Title: Appraiser Assistant

Reports To: Director of Equalization

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Equalization, the Appraiser Assistant is responsible for assisting the appraisers in performing technical and professional appraisal work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Assist appraisers with data collection and verification.
  • Interact with property owners in a professional manner.
  • Take photos and record property characteristics, as requested by appraisers.
  • Take measurements of homes, commercial buildings, and additional property structures, as requested by appraisers.
  • Perform duties in a manner with safe practices and policies.
  • Perform other such duties and functions as deemed necessary.

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication, teamwork, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities and maintain a high level of professionalism to cope with unpleasant situations, co-workers, and the public.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills.

EXAMINATION, TESTING, AND CERTIFICATION

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility as required by federal law.
