DDD Residential Counselor (12 AM - 8 AM)

SUMMARY: Residential Counselors provide direct care services to CODI's consumers in group homes around Atlantic County, NJ.

This posting is for the DDD Residential Counselor position from 12 AM - 8 AM Saturday and Sunday.

$18.00/hour

Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must obtain and retain CPR and First Aid Certification within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer
• A driver's license valid in the state of New Jersey with no more than 5 points as observed through driving abstracts completed initially and every 6 months thereafter
• Submit to a criminal background check and be determined not to be disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served
• Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
• All employees hired after 6/15/18 shall submit to drug testing prior to employment
• Submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause
• Complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)
• Pass monthly background screening
• Fully cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
  
  

DUTIES

• Create and sustain an environment where all members of the CODI community feel welcome and are treated as valued team members
• Build and sustain CODI's infrastructure to enhance diversity, inclusion, and equity
• Facilitate a person-centered thinking process to help ensure plans are developed with, for, and by the individual and guide delivery.
• Assist consumers with Individualized Service Plan (ISP) goals
• Responsible for administering medication
• Assist consumers in maintaining cleanliness and safety of home
• Prepare and maintain required DDD-required documentation
• Engage consumers in social and/or recreational activities
• Be capable of climbing/descending stairways to respond to consumer needs
• Be capable of assisting consumers with evacuating Group Homes in 180 seconds
• Complete all Relias Trainings within 30 days of assignment
• Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training
• Complete all other duties as assigned
