Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must obtain and retain CPR and First Aid Certification within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer
- A driver's license valid in the state of New Jersey with no more than 5 points as observed through driving abstracts completed initially and every 6 months thereafter
- Submit to a criminal background check and be determined not to be disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served
- Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
- All employees hired after 6/15/18 shall submit to drug testing prior to employment
- Submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause
- Complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)
- Pass monthly background screening
- Fully cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
- Create and sustain an environment where all members of the CODI community feel welcome and are treated as valued team members
- Build and sustain CODI's infrastructure to enhance diversity, inclusion, and equity
- Facilitate a person-centered thinking process to help ensure plans are developed with, for, and by the individual and guide delivery.
- Assist consumers with Individualized Service Plan (ISP) goals
- Responsible for administering medication
- Assist consumers in maintaining cleanliness and safety of home
- Prepare and maintain required DDD-required documentation
- Engage consumers in social and/or recreational activities
- Be capable of climbing/descending stairways to respond to consumer needs
- Be capable of assisting consumers with evacuating Group Homes in 180 seconds
- Complete all Relias Trainings within 30 days of assignment
- Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training
- Complete all other duties as assigned
