Codeworks is an IT Services firm headquartered in SE Wisconsin, known for our strong commitment to quality and for our direct client relationships.Start Date: January 5, 2026Contract: Long-termLocation: Madison, WI Onsite Position SummaryMadison College is seeking an Asset Technician to manage technology hardware within the Technology Services hardware depot. This role is responsible for tracking, tagging, storing, distributing, and maintaining district-wide technology assets. The position also supports hardware installation, replacement, incident response, and lifecycle refresh activities across all campus locations.Key ResponsibilitiesTrack, maintain, and update all technology assets in the inventory management system.Receive shipments, assign I.D. numbers, and apply barcode tags.Maintain organized storage and ensure adequate supply of hardware and replacement parts.Coordinate distribution, installation, and removal of technology equipment.Support hardware refresh projects and district-wide asset management processes.Respond to incident tickets and assist with hardware troubleshooting and replacements.Follow IT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExperience in technical support, inventory management, and hardware maintenance.Strong organization, planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage multiple priorities.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and climb a 12-ft ladder for equipment installation.Minimum QualificationsTwo years (4,000 hours) related experience.One year (2,000 hours) asset management experience in a medium–large environment (500–2,000 workstations).Must work on-site.About Codeworks: Codeworks has over 25 years of experience serving Fortune 1000 companies in Wisconsin as well as our client's national locations.
