Overview
The Systems Analyst analyzes business needs, improves systems and processes, and ensures technology solutions align with organizational goals. Under the general guidance of the IT Solution Delivery Manager, this position serves as an expert resource, leveraging extensive experience and sound judgment to plan, coordinate, and implement complex IT initiatives that drive business efficiency and compliance.
Responsibilities
Analyze business objectives and operational challenges to document user requirements, procedures, and workflows for system improvement or development.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine operational processes, system inputs/outputs, and desired outcomes.
Develop detailed user stories, functional requirements, and technical specifications based on business needs.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process descriptions, user manuals, and system change logs.
Lead and perform quality assurance and testing activities, ensuring systems meet business and technical standards.
Facilitate discussions between business and technical teams to define business rules, outputs, and process designs.
Review and align rules, policies, and procedures with established business processes and compliance requirements.
Coordinate with technical staff to implement process improvements and functional enhancements.
Track, analyze, and resolve system issues using help desk and issue-tracking systems.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts, documenting outcomes and recommending corrective actions.
Conduct user acceptance and system testing, validating solutions against requirements and providing enhancement feedback.
Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout system development and implementation.
Follow established software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance standards.
Maintain professionalism and effective communication with a variety of stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Contribute to the development of IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
Advanced expertise in business and technical analysis, including business process documentation, process design, requirements gathering, and functional design.
Advanced knowledge of quality assurance principles and software testing methodologies.
Strong understanding of project management principles, methods, and best practices.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
Highly self-motivated with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.
ITIL 4 Foundation certification or equivalent.
CompTIA A certification or equivalent.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
