Coding Club Tutor/Teacher - Part Time

We are seeking a Dependable, Passionate After-School Coding Tutor/Instructors to inspire and educate school-age kids in the fascinating world of technology, robotics, coding and video games. Our Instructors oversee the day-to-day learning and overall engagement of the students enrolled in our programs with the ability to make their learning experiences fun and engaging. Starting Wages : $25-$30/Hour (Part Time - ie, Work only 6 classes a week and make up to $1,400/month, depending on availability)

Teachers will be TRAVELING to a school each day within South Tampa, Brandon, Riverview/Gibsonton to teach one hour long after school enrichment classes to students in K - 8th grade!

This is a part time position - Perfect for Students, School day Teachers, Substitutes Teachers, Interns looking to get into the Tech or Education Fields.

Hours: up to 14 hours per week depending on personal availability, and willingness to travel around in the Tampa Bay Area.

Summer: 15 - 20 hours per week.

Teacher Duties:

• Must learn the Curriculum and effectively deliver Learning objectives to students K-8th grade.
• Skillful classroom management of 15-20 students in a classroom setting
• Ability to adapt curriculum, hardware, or classroom set up to support any technical or social demands that may arise during program.
• Ability to think outside the box and willingness to contribute to the overall success of our program
• Foster creativity and teach coding concepts, problem-solving skills, robotics, and game development in a fun and interactive manner.
• Support students using with fundamentals of programming through various languages such as: Block Coding, Scratch, Python, HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and active learning.
• Monitor student progress, identify areas of opportunity, and offer support to help each child reach their full potential.
• Communicate with parents/team, providing weekly updates via emails (or other) of students progress or class activities
• Collaborate with the school staff and administration to align the after-school program with the school's goals, values, and policies.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
• Commute to different schools/centers locations daily.
• Must be Punctual to Classes (Expect to arrive 15 to 20 minutes earlier than the start of the class)
• Complete a full Level 2 state and Federal background screening.

* Qualifications: *

• Solid work history with children ages 6 and up: Teaching, mentoring, tutoring, or Coaching, camp counseor, etc - REQUIRED (1 year preferred)
• Candidates with a strong background in STEM, Computer Science, Robotics are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work with children and manage a classroom of up to 15 to 20 students at a time.
• Working knowledge of Computers, Tablets, etc
• Working knowledge of coding/STEM-related topics or the ability to quickly learn new skills and concepts (We can train the right person with the right attitude)
• CodeFu can train you in our Computer Science curriculum if you have substantial teaching experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for transporting equipment.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged and supported.

Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 /hour
