Do you love working with kids and love technology? Code Wiz offers after-school in-person classes/camps and is looking to hire an amazing coach! This position offers you the chance to impact kids' lives in a fun and enriching way! High-school and College students (seeking Internships / Coop) are encouraged to apply for this position that can be good value-add for the profile.
Requirements:
- Interest and background in at least two of the following fields: Python, Java, Game Design, Unity, Godot, Roblox, Minecraft, 3D Designing in Blender and/or Tinkercad, LEGO/VEX Robotics, Experience with FLL is a plus!
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation - ability to travel to partner sites and camp locations is required
- Some experience (at least 6 months ideally) working with kids in a camp, tutoring, child care, or after-school program
- Charisma and ability to function independently
Responsibilities:
- Teach and lead kids through coding lessons and projects using our structured curriculum
- Run trial classes for prospective new students
- Come up with creative, engaging project ideas that kids can make their own
- Foster a positive, collaborative environment among students
- Monitor each student's progress and interest level; flag concerns to the Center Director
- Respond to parent questions about their child's progress professionally and warmly
- Travel to partner school sites and camp locations as needed to support off-site programs
Hours:
- 5-10 hours a week (Classes are held between 3pm-8pm after school with some weekend shifts available as well)
- 20-35 hours a week during Vacation and Summer time.
