About Code Wiz Colleyville

Code Wiz Colleyville is a dynamic coding and technology center offering after-school classes, camps, trial experiences, and special programs for students ages 7–17.

We believe coding is one of the most powerful ways to shape a child’s future. Our programs build technical skills while strengthening creativity, confidence, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Our coaches are the heart of our center. They do more than teach code—they inspire curiosity, guide creativity, help students understand what they are building, and create an experience that makes families excited to continue learning with Code Wiz.

This is a hands-on teaching and family-facing position. In addition to leading classes, the instructor will welcome families, communicate with parents, conduct trial experiences, recommend appropriate learning pathways, and help trial families move forward with enrollment.

Required Availability

Applicants must be consistently available:

  • Every Wednesday from 3:30–7:30 PM
  • Additional weekday afternoon, evening, and Saturday morning hours may be available
  • Summer camp hours may increase based on enrollment and availability

The Wednesday shift is a required, ongoing part of this position during the school year.

Preferred Technical Skills

Strong candidates will have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Unity game development using C#
  • Roblox Studio using Lua
  • Python or Java programming
  • Minecraft modding using MCreator and drag-and-drop Java tools
  • Debugging and troubleshooting student coding projects

Experience in every platform is not required, but applicants must be comfortable learning new technology and completing Code Wiz curriculum training.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach youth coding, gaming, and technology classes using Code Wiz curriculum

Trial Class and Family Enrollment Responsibilities

  • Welcome prospective families and create a friendly, professional first impression
  • Conduct introductory conversations to understand each student’s interests, goals, experience, and learning style
  • Lead engaging trial classes that demonstrate meaningful learning and the value of Code Wiz programs
  • Observe the student during the trial and recommend an appropriate learning pathway
  • Speak with parents after the trial to explain what their child created, highlight strengths, and discuss areas for growth
  • Explain available programs, schedules, tuition options, and membership levels
  • Recommend the most appropriate enrollment option based on the student’s needs and the family’s goals
  • Answer parent questions and address concerns in a professional, helpful manner
  • Confidently ask trial families if they are ready to enroll and guide them through the next steps
  • Support the center’s trial-to-enrollment goals while maintaining an honest, family-focused approach
