About the Role: Camp Counselor
As a Camp Counselor, you are more than a supervisor—you are a mentor, coach, and role model. You will actively participate in all camp activities, lead campers through engaging experiences, and help create a safe, fun, and memorable environment.
You’ll interact with campers throughout the day—keeping them engaged, helping them build friendships, and ensuring they have an amazing time in the Dojo.
Camp Counselor Qualities
- High energy and ability to stay engaged throughout a full day of activities
- Experience working with children (ages 5–14 preferred)
- Enthusiastic, responsible, dependable, and consistent
- Calm, flexible, and level-headed in all situations
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Passion for working with kids and fostering a positive learning environment
Camp Counselor Responsibilities
- Lead and Supervise Campers
- Supervise groups of 10 campers, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging experience
- Foster connection through team-building activities, games, and daily interaction
- Maintain a positive and supportive environment using proactive and restorative behavior strategies
- Provide individualized support based on campers’ needs
Deliver the Code Ninjas Experience
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to deliver Code Ninjas’ project-based STEM curriculum
- Guide campers through activities involving coding, game-building, and creative problem-solving
- Help prepare materials and ensure the Dojo is ready for each activity
Engage in Camp Activities
- Plan, set up, and lead daily camp activities with your team
- Lead campers through ceremonies, games, snack time, and lunch
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to camp traditions like songs, chants, and skits
- Contribute to a fun, memorable, and high-energy camp culture
Provide Exceptional Customer Experience
- Greet campers and families warmly each day
- Follow check-in/check-out procedures to ensure safety and efficiency
- Communicate with families as needed to share camper experiences
Additional Support
- Assist with extended care programming before and after camp, as needed
Pay & Perks
- Pay: $16.90–$20/hour (based on experience working with children and STEM knowledge)
- Training pay provided at local minimum wage for required pre-camp training and setup

- Camp Dates: Monday–Friday, June 8 through August 14
- Availability: Staff must be available for the full camp season
Pay: $16.90 - $20.00 per hour
