Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including high-voltage wiring, motor control equipment, and low-voltage systems in commercial and industrial environments
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute projects
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and ammeters to identify issues quickly and effectively
- Maintain compliance with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standard for electrical safety) and NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations during all phases of work
- Conduct routine electrical maintenance on industrial motors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other control systems to ensure optimal performance
- Install electrical systems in accordance with electrical building codes, safety procedures, and project specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely to complete installations and repairs efficiently
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure seamless integration of electrical components within larger projects
- Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately to guide installation and troubleshooting efforts
- Perform high-voltage wiring tasks safely while adhering to all safety protocols related to high-voltage environments
- Document work performed through detailed reports, logs, and maintenance records
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems
- Extensive knowledge of electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting techniques, and repair procedures
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring projects and industrial motor maintenance
- Familiarity with reading complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and schematics for various systems
- Demonstrated ability to work safely following electrical safety procedures and building codes such as NFPA 70 and NEC standards
- Experience working on construction sites or large-scale industrial facilities is highly desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment necessary for effective troubleshooting
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control equipment, low voltage systems, and electrical blueprint reading is preferred
