Position Overview
This is a deal-driven technical accounting role for someone who wants to work on complex real estate transactions rather than routine close cycles. You will sit at the center of investment activity, from reviewing legal agreements through financial reporting, and will have real visibility into how deals are structured and executed.
What You'll Do
Accounting and Technical Research
- Lead and review the preparation of technical accounting memos across a range of transaction types
- Review executed legal agreements to identify accounting implications and drive appropriate treatment
- Prepare and review journal entries for acquisitions, dispositions, and other complex investment activity
- Support technical accounting research for upcoming transactions
Transaction and Reporting Support
- Partner with Tax, Investments, and Finance on accounting treatment across a variety of investment structures
- Assist in setting up new investment structures within financial reporting systems
- Develop and maintain accounting estimation models and monitor financial results
- Contribute to quarterly external reporting disclosures tied to investment activity
Team Leadership
- Supervise and coach staff and senior accountants
- Serve as the go-to resource on transaction accounting for the broader team
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in real estate audit, real estate financial due diligence, or real estate transaction accounting
- CPA highly preferred
- Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing technical accounting memos
- Ability to read and interpret complex legal agreements for accounting purposes
- Strong written communication skills
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting staff preferred
Salary : $110,000 - $115,000
