What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elderly Nutrition Program position at Cocopah Indian Tribe?
· Ensures food safety practices, nutrition education, and cost-effective meals in accordance with local, state and federal requirements
· Manages day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the meal delivery program.
· Trains and supervises kitchen staff and driver.
· Maintains rigorous sanitary conditions, follows food safety handling protocols, and tracks food temperatures.
· Maintain and monitor food inventory, proper storage, vendor orders, supervises food preparation, cooking and delivery of meals to tribal elders.
· Helps to develop and monitor menu planning with special dietary needs pertaining to federal and state regulations.
· Develops, plan and monitor department budgets; monitor monthly expenditures.
· Manages weekly inventory of food and supplies and order as needed.
· Conducts nutrition assessments and provides nutrition education & activities to participants individually or in groups.
· Develops, implements and analyzes policies and procedures for the Elder Nutrition Program.
· Develops, implement and maintain intake forms. Maintain case management files.
· Evaluates, assess, plans and monitors participants’ nutrition and health needs according to individuals’ goals; well visits, transportation to medical appointments, coordinate care services; such as Social Security or AZAHCCCS, assist participants to identify and obtain resources.
· Responsible for programmatic monthly, quarterly and yearly reports to various grant agencies.
· Host educational workshops and activities based on healthy eating habits.
· Prepare educational material and provide resources on nutrition-related topics.
· Maintain records per different grant guidelines and requirements.
· Conduct wellness checks and assessments.
· Other duties may be assigned.
