Under general supervision performs professional work of moderate difficulty in surveillance case work for probationers predominately evening and weekends and holidays; performs related work as assigned; establish and maintain a positive and healthy work environment.

• Provides closely structured supervision of offenders
• Monitors offenders at multiple sites
• Prepares, collects and maintains reports, supervision information
• Coordinates and cooperates with criminal justice agencies
• Performs urinalysis and breath testing, searches, employment contacts, arrests, transportation and detention of violators
• Prepares and presents court testimony
• Participates in planning and evaluating offender progress
Essential functions of this position include: driving; walking; working with and around others; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; touch and finger dexterity for computer work
- Associate degree in behavioral science or related field
- OR one year experience as a surveillance officer
- OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must obtain an Arizona driver’s license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and criminal history check relevant to employment.
- Must achieve a certification of completion/proficiency of 40-hour Defensive Tactics Academy with annual 8–12-hour review.
- If SO chooses to be armed, must attend and pass 40-hour Firearms Academy and maintain a 20-hour annual “shoot” for recertification purposes
- Complete a minimum of 16 hours of on-going education within the judicial system certified by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET).
This position is safety sensitive.
This position is non-exempt from overtime.
