What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transfer Evaluations and Graduation Specialist Sr. position at Coconino Community College?
The Evaluations and Credentials Coordinator performs a comprehensive set of transcript evaluation and degree audit functions to meet students’ educational goals of degree completion and/or transfer to a four-year college. The role requires strong critical thinking and decision-making skills as well as knowledge of state (AZTransfer) and industry (AACRAO) best practices. This is a full-time, 12 month, benefit eligible position.

Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations governing college admissions, residency classification, student privacy, curriculum, and academic credential awarding. Knowledge of relational databases and data integrity. Skilled in creative problem solving and analytical thinking. Ability to work autonomously; think critically, and perform multiple tasks accurately and quickly while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.Bachelor’s degree and 1 years of experience in directly related functions; or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in directly related functions; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and/or approved by the Human Resources department.
Preferred
Experience working in post-secondary institutions (specifically at the community college level) in a Registrar’s Office or Enrollment Services Office. Experience working with a student information system (Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, etc.) and with degree audit software (e.g., Degree Works). Demonstrated ability in critical decision making and problem solving. Must be detail oriented and have a concern for data integrity.

Salary & Benefits:
- Anticipated Hiring Range: $22.00 - $27.28/hour - depending on education and experience
- Full Salary Range: $22.00 - $32.56/hour - depending on education and experience
- Cafeteria Plan: In addition to the base compensation, benefits-eligible employees receive an extra $5,640 per year to put toward benefit costs or to be used as additional take-home pay

Transfer Credit Evaluation
- Evaluate transfer coursework for general credit and degree/certificate requirement applicability.
- Analyze, interpret, and apply both statewide and college policy to each credit evaluation, enforcing standards for fairness, consistency, and integrity.
- Effectively communicate complex transfer credit policies and procedures to students, faculty, and fellow staff.
- Build and maintain transfer credit articulation tables within the Banner student information system, performing yearly reviews and updates for any curriculum changes.
- Manage the Transfer Evaluation System (TES); train Deans, faculty, and fellow staff on TES access, navigation, and workflow functionality.
- Oversee reverse transfer credit evaluation and subsequent degree awarding, collaborating with CCC2NAU advisors on data sharing between CCC and NAU.
- Evaluate and apply credit for professional licensure, prior learning, and military training.
- Assist management with state transfer equivalencies to share and disseminate information regarding articulation and curriculum, such as transfer equivalence of courses, programs, degrees and certificates, and advising. Includes sharing information in faculty, department, and division meetings.
Degree Audit and Graduation
- Assess student progress toward degree/certificate completion within Degree Works throughout the student lifecycle: admission, program change, graduation application, and credential awarding.
- Evaluate requests for course waivers and substitutions from faculty and advisors to ensure compliance with college, state, and federal policy.
- Certify program completion and award degree/certificate credentials in Banner.
- Utilize ARGOS reporting tool to create and monitor accurate commencement and diploma data for the college.
- Provide support to the Commencement Committee and participate in the annual ceremony.
- Maintain accurate reports of Commencement participants. Work with appropriate areas to produce final list of graduates attending the ceremony and program listing.
- Coordinate diploma creation and printing to ensure timely distribution to students.
- Serves as the designee to the Registrar and/or Assistant Registrar when necessary.
- Performs other special projects and duties when assigned.
Customer Service and Collaboration:
- Serve as a back-up for Enrollment Service Specialists, assisting walk-in and phone customers with admission, residency, registration, placement and transcript questions.
- Protect student privacy according to FERPA regulations, be a FERPA ambassador for the college.
