What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at Cockeye BBQ?
Cockeye BBQ is looking for a full time AM prep cook. Our team is nice, our kitchen is clean and the food is prepared fresh everyday. This job require attention to detail, food safety and handling knowledge and the ability to read a recipe.
What's the job?
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh produce and other food items according to established standards
- Follow recipes accurately and ensure proper food handling procedures are maintained at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sanitizing utensils, equipment, and surfaces regularly
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by efficiently completing meal prep tasks and ensuring timely delivery of ingredients
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Adhere strictly to food safety standards and health regulations to ensure a safe dining environment for all guests
Experience
- Previous experience as a prep cook is preferred
- Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment demonstrating knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques is required
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal assembly, and catering operations is a great extra
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
