We are seeking a reliable and experienced Service Manager to lead our front-of-house team, ensure top-notch customer care, and manage the service workflow to support an efficient, high-performing shop.
The Service Manager is responsible for managing the daily service operations of the shop, including customer communications, scheduling, estimating, and workflow coordination between customers and technicians. The Service Manager plays a critical role in customer satisfaction, employee performance, and the overall success of the shop
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Communication
- Greet and assist customers with professionalism and care.
- Accurately write repair order and provide clear, honest estimates.
- Explain repairs and recommendations in a way customers can understand.
- Keep customers informed about the status of their vehicles and any changes.
Service Department Operations
- Schedule repairs and manage shop workflow for maximum efficiency.
- Prioritize jobs based on technician availability and customer needs.
- Coordinate parts ordering and ensure timely delivery to minimize delays.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and customer-friendly service area.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and integrity.
Sales & Performance
- Recommend needed services and repairs to meet customer and vehicle needs.
- Monitor key performance metrics (e.g., sales per repair order, labor hours, customer satisfaction).
- Support marketing promotions and customer retention programs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive service advisor or management or a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Solid understanding of automotive systems and repair processes.
- Proficient with computers and shop management software
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair processes, and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships with clients.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both customers and team members.
- Experience in upselling automotive services is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A valid driver's license is required.
