Cochon King BBQ is a small family-owned restaurant in Gentilly. We take pride in providing our award-winning BBQ to the people of New Orleans.
We are family-owned and operated, with a small krewe managing and executing things on the daily. We have a brick-and-mortar on Franklin Avenue where this position will be working, as well as a food truck (The Pig Truck) that you can find around town. Additionally, we operate a very successful catering business that is known for our festival vending and on-site catering of boiled seafood, award-winning BBQ, and Louisiana fare.

Availability Needs:
For this position we are looking for someone in need of 20-30 hours a week with mostly open availability Wednesday-Sundays. We are flexible and can work around specific times you may need off on a regular basis. You would have every Monday and Tuesday off guaranteed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide great customer service to all customers
- Work with front of house team and stay on track and focused.
- Take phone orders, handle in-shop customers, and tablets during service hours.
- Rolling silverware, cutting table papers, making sauce cups, and keeping the FOH clean during and after every shift.
- Take walk-in orders, phone orders, and manage delivery tablet orders.
- Expedite food orders and ensure timely delivery to customers
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of food service
- Maintain a clean and organized FOH area
- Assist with food preparation and plating as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any concerns or special requests
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area (we do not have a full service restaurant)
Experience:
- Previous front of house restaurant experience is preferred (host, server, cashier, etc.)
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A responsible Vendor Certification from the ATC (bar card) will be required, we have a liquor license and serve beers, seltzers, and daiquiris. If you don't have a Responsible Vendor permit, we will pay for you to take the class on your phone/computer.
Note: This position may require standing for periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds.
It is also notable that if you prove to be professional there are many opportunities for additional shifts/hours through our catering company. We always need additional hands for onsite catering events.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
