Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications, using various techniques and tools.
- Prepare cake fillings, icings, and decorative elements to enhance visual appeal.
- Package finished products carefully to ensure quality during transport and display.
- Assist in food production tasks such as assembling cakes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and work area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Handle food ingredients responsibly, adhering to proper food handling procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing decoration options and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Skills
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or culinary arts with a strong portfolio of decorated cakes.
- Knowledge of food industry standards including food safety, handling, and sanitation practices.
- Skilled in food preparation, baking, and general kitchen operations.
- Proficiency in cake decorating techniques such as piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and sculpting.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with an artistic eye for design and presentation.
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and shaping of decorative elements.
- Experience in packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes.
- Customer service skills to assist clients with custom orders and design ideas.
