Location(s): United States of America City/Cities: Remote Travel Required: 00% - 25% Relocation Provided: No Job Posting End Date: April 9, 2023 Shift: Job Description Summary: The Director, Retail Strategy Drug and Value will deliver the Large Store channel annual commercial plan. This includes a holistic and ‘consumer centric’ approach to the business, across all routes to market, and throughout the full North American Operating Unit (U.S. and Canada). He or she will pull together and/or create enablers from/with across the company’s SME’s (i.e. Brand, RGM, Category Leadership, innovation, etc.) all with the intent to drive the commercial objectives of growth across Revenue, Profit, Volume, Transactions, Share and SOVI. Job Activities Lead and drive the channel growth strategy and performance in partnership with Customer, Marketing, RGM, and Commercial Strategy & Operations Synthesize and communicate macro (Channel, Category, Brand, and Competitive) and shopper trends impacting the channel to influence long and short-term business plans designed to drive SOVI growth, total beverage incidence and trip conversion. Collaborate with broader Commercial, Marketing, Customer and Franchise teams to develop scalable and actionable retail solutions, commercialize strategic brand initiatives and secure priority POI’s. Proactively identify and prioritize channel opportunities to drive the annual business plan Develop, evolve and steward PicOS for the channel by month by POI to align the system around one clear set of execution priorities Develop customer facing imperatives and utilize supporting tools to assist in commercialization/sell-in of strategic brand initiatives and key Points of Inspiration. Steward evolutions and acceleration plans within the annual plan structure to meet changing consumer needs in a dynamic marketplace Experience 8-10 yrs. experience, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods / beverages industry BA/BS, MBA or other advanced degree preferred Technical/Functional Skills: Soft Skills: Ability to listen and empathize in order to effectively collaborate with breadth of stakeholders. Strong oral and written communication. Effective at delivering data/fact-based, persuasive story telling Elevated EQ/Diplomacy to enable navigating broad system stakeholders System Financial Awareness: Conceptual understanding of how company, bottlers and customers make money Experience in leveraging commercial levers (pricing, marketing, shelving, promotion, etc.) to drive a business plan Analytics & Insights: Trend Analysis: Knowledge of and ability to gather, interpret and apply multiple consumer/industry insights and trends used in the development of channel strategies and programs. Syndicated Sources: Knowledge of syndicated sources (e.g., AC Nielsen, IRI, CCT , Home Scan) used in the analysis of trended consumer and volume dynamics. Retail Industry: Knowledge of the retail industry (e.g., retailers, competitors, trends, visual merchandising, general business environment) related to multiple channels of distribution. Marketing: Marketing Concepts: Knowledge of and ability to apply basic marketing concepts (e.g., brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT Analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/strategies, consumer segmentation) to guide the development of business plans for the respective channels. Marketing Tools/Information: Knowledge of and ability to use marketing tools/information to identify and define consumer/marketplace opportunities. Brand Marketing Strategy: Knowledge of information used to define brand strategic corridors and develop appropriate business solutions for channel activation.
