A day in this roleYou start your shift walking the line, listening for the subtle signs of wear. A conveyor hesitates—you isolate the fault, reference diagrams and manuals, swap parts, and tune the system. Later, you finish scheduled PMs on motors, pneumatic tools, and production machinery, documenting parts usage and work orders. When production needs a hand, you jump in to keep throughput high, coach operators on preventive tips, and help enforce safe, clean work practices. Between calls, you review inventory levels, anticipate upcoming needs, and propose design tweaks that lift efficiency across the plant.
How you’ll make an impact- Execute preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and high-speed production equipment using diagrams, sketches, OEM manuals, and engineering specs.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing equipment in operation, listening for abnormalities, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Complete assigned PMs and corrective work orders across multiple assets; accurately record work performed, parts consumption, and requisitions.
- Reduce downtime by coaching production teams on routine preventive techniques, monitoring adherence, and assisting on the line to sustain peak efficiency.
- Support a safe, orderly workplace by following procedures, rules, and regulations and by stewarding maintenance resources responsibly.
- Suggest and implement design improvements and process changes to boost overall production efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and follow SOPs and instructions; solid computer literacy.
- Strength in multitasking and in monitoring/adjusting equipment speeds, temperatures, and liquid levels.
- Skill diagnosing complex process issues and making mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic adjustments.
- Preferred: ability to read blueprints, electrical prints, and machine schematics; capacity to understand complex processing systems.
- Self-starter mindset with drive to deepen technical expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- EITHER 3–5 years of relevant work experience OR 2 years of college/technical training in a related field.
- Preferred: 2 years in plant maintenance with high-speed production equipment and/or certification from technical schooling.
Loud, wet production setting with exposure to extreme temperatures.
