Position Overview:
When our customers are struggling with technology, we swoop in and save the day! Our company focuses on business-to-business IT services, keeping small to mid-size companies’ critical technology components up and running smoothly so they can thrive. The role of the Technology Solutions Consultant is to generate new business opportunities through a variety of strategies including, but not limited to, cold and warm leads, identifying opportunities, networking within the business community, and seeking referrals from existing customers. This sales role will sell our complete portfolio of IT solutions, including managed services, blocked-time on-site IT services, VoIP phone systems, low-voltage wiring, and surveillance systems in order to maintain a healthy and organized pipeline of work for the technician team. Consultants should enjoy a combination of technical consulting, relationship building, estimating, and business development. This position may also have additional responsibilities involving project planning and coordination to help ensure jobs remain on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities:
-Sales & Business Development:
-Sell the company’s complete portfolio of technology solutions including, but not limited to: MSP, contracted block-hour IT services, VoIP systems, network infrastructure solutions, surveillance systems, low-voltage wiring services.
-Identify opportunities to cross-sell services to existing customers. Generate new business opportunities through warm leads, referrals, networking, and cold outreach.
-Develop relationships with local business owners, decision-makers, and community organizations. Attend networking events, business functions, and community activities to promote company services and increase company visibility.
-Follow up promptly on marketing-generated leads and maintain an active sales pipeline.
-Conduct discovery meetings to identify customer pain points and recommend appropriate solutions.
-Conduct on-site surveys for wiring, surveillance, network infrastructure and other technology projects. Gather project requirements and document site conditions. Prepare accurate project scopes of work and estimates that align with company profitability and gross margin objectives.
-Present pricing and estimates to prospective clients. Negotiate contracts and secure signed agreements.
-Serve as a primary point of contact during the sales process, maintaining regular communication with prospects and customers.
-Foster long-term customer relationships that encourage retention and referral business.
-Contribute ideas and feedback to improve company sales processes, customer experience, and service offerings.
-Project Planning & Coordination:
-Assist with the planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects.
-Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
-Communicate project updates between customers, technicians, and management.
-Help identify and resolve scheduling, resource, or scope-related challenges.
-Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes.
General Responsibilities:
-Work collaboratively with technicians, support staff, and company leadership.
-Attend daily team huddle meetings.
-Maintain general operations, including but not limited to: organization of personal and team workspaces and general up-keep and cleanliness of shop and vehicles.
Benefits:
-Hourly compensation of $22 per hour plus commission.
-Commission on MSP and VoIP products equivalent of first month’s subscription rate. Commission on IT contracts equivalent to 50% of first month’s contract rate. Commission on estimated projects, 5% of final project cost (providing that project was completed on-time and on-budget). OTE - $75,000.
-Work hours 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends for community networking / outreach. Expected 40 hours per week.
-PTO - Pro-rated after 90 days, first calendar year - 1 week, second calendar year - 2 weeks, three plus years - 3 weeks.
-Paid (weekday) holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
-Employer-sponsored retirement plan.
-Incentive plan after 6 months of employment (subject to change).
Requirements:
-High School diploma or equivalency.
-Proven sales experience in one or more of the following: IT services, MSP, telecommunication / VoIP, low voltage wiring, surveillance systems, business-to-business sales.
-High energy, self-motivated, proactive. Results-driven.
-Excellent time management. Highly organized and able to multitask.
-Excellent oral and written communication.
-Excellent relationship-building skills.
-Comfortable with cold calling and prospecting.
-Technically curious. Able to understand technical solutions and explain them clearly to customers.
-Experience preparing estimates and proposals.
-Able to balance sales activity with operational coordination.
-Clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in IT services or MSP environments. Familiarity with networking, structured cabling, surveillance systems, and VoIP solutions.
-Basic project management / coordination experience.
-Existing local business relationships and sales networking experience.
Pay: $75,000.00 per year
