The Cook is responsible for all hot and cold main entree production, modified consistencies and specials utilizing standardized recipes, approved food handling and sanitation techniques for residents and employees. As Cook, you will work with the rest of the tea to complete the days' menu items, assist with ordering and receiving, and ensure a clean and compliant kitchen environment.

Shift & Hours: Part-Time (3 days/ week) Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am-6pm and every other weekend
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review menus prior to preparation of food.
- Ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Process diet changes and new diets as received.
- Assist in establishing food service production lines, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
- Work with the facility's dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
- Ensure that stock levels of staple/non-staple food, supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained at adequate levels at all times.
- Displays a positive attitude within the department and across departmental lines in support of the facility's programs and mission.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team to facilitate goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate:
- Must be a High School graduate or have High School Equivalency Diploma.
- Must have at least one (1) year of prior cooking experience in a healthcare setting
- Must be able to read, understand, speak and write English.
- Knowledge of food sanitation and safety procedures desired.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees, dining room staff, and guests. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to four (4) hours in length. Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc. up to 40 pounds
Salary : $25 - $27
